Do it ALL for the glory of God!

Did you know every Christian is in full-time Christian ministry? Sure, God may call some as missionaries, as soldiers or nurses, others to be Ad Copywriters, as I was, and others as maintenance workers or Workplace Chaplains. The fact remains, we are ALL "in the ministry," no matter what the work of our hands may be.
There is NO DISTINCTION made in Scripture between sacred and secular. In fact, the Hebrew word avodah is the root word having the same meaning for "work" as "worship." In its different forms, “work” is mentioned more than 800 times in the Bible; more than all the words used to express “worship”, “music”, “praise”, and “singing” COMBINED.
Those who serve as "professional" Christians - those who get paid to work in the institutional church - often serve with titles attached, titles that were never intended to be anything other than Job Descriptions. Sadly, when serving with titles, an unbiblical hierarchy takes root and a spiritual corporation is established, the likes of which cannot be found in Scripture. The rank and file pew-warmer, on the other hand, is stuck with such unscriptural, and therefore unspiritual titles such as janitor, daycare worker, secretary, machinist, short-order cook, etc., causing many to surrender to the concept that their role in the Body of Christ is that of “tither” to help pay overhead costs.
How exciting. NOT!
Your work is worship. Sadly, we've reduced our worship to occasional sing-alongs in a church building when what we do for over 60% of our lives -  that thing we call “work” - is every bit as important to God’s Kingdom. If you have a job you HAVE a full-time ministry... AND you get paid for it! Perhaps it might help if we try and wrap our minds around another truth - that "church" is not someplace we go; it's something we ARE!
With good intentions, many have elevated the role of the Christian worker as being holier and perceived as being more spiritually committed than the person who is serving in the secular arena. Your job - your MINISTRY there - is as important as anything found in the so-called “5-Fold” ministries of Ephesians 4:11.
Yes, God's army can be found in every sphere of life, wearing the camouflage of a doctor, a fireman, a business executive, or a professional athlete. We are never NOT The Church, whether we’re seated in a pew in a cathedral, a cubicle in a skyscraper, a restaurant booth, or in someone’s cozy den.

Make the conscious decision today, to no longer trade your precious time for money.
