An underground economy in America?
It's already here. It's quite huge and it's growing.
Americans are increasingly embracing private, non-monetary bartering systems. Unfolding job-killing regulations and mandates – such as the Obamacare's sneakily included proviso which soon requires most $600+ transactions across the economy to be reported to the U.S. government – are driving traditional commerce into the shadows.
Our money is being confiscated in the form of taxes. So, with confiscatory taxes about to skyrocket – and depression-level collapse of employment already here – being ready to trade and function in America's vastly expanding underground barter economy has become an absolute MUST. The American family requires "stuff" in order to function properly. One way or another, folks will find a way.
I've worked through the barter issue carefully and can say, without hesitation, the time is NOW to make preparations for bartering for the sake of you and your family.
Are you ready to function and prosper in this rising underground economy?

America Is Becoming a Third-World Country before Our Eyes
  • Rising unemployment and poverty (both are much bleaker than official reports portray, as government statisticians routinely "cook the books").
  • Economic dependence (debt above 90% of GDP).
  • Declining civil rights (Patriot Act and other privacy stealing mandates).
  • Increasing political corruption (not only the criminal trials and sex scandals that make for titillating headlines, but the insidious, below-the-radar payola system that corrupts government at all levels).
  • Military patrolling the streets (the hush-hush training of thousands of U.S. troops for deployment in urban America has been derailed by many and we've all noticed the militarization of law enforcement).
  • Failing infrastructure (bridges, dams, oil and gas pipelines, power grid).
  • Disappearing middle class (massive, permanent loss of blue-collar jobs).
  • Devalued currency (the inevitable result of chronic deficit spending).
  • Controlling the media (the FCC, having effectively co-opted the major networks, is now eyeing talk radio controls and internet "neutrality").
  • Capital controls (preventing free markets and free people from correcting and disciplining the financial misdeeds of big government).
Casey Research recently unearthed a list entitled "10 Signs the U.S. is Becoming a Third World Country." The list speaks for itself:
Folks, these are the signs experienced by other nations who were

once thriving and prosperous. The Greek people have already

embraced the bartering system on a large scale. CLICK HERE.

Some genius tried to fix what wasn't broken and people have

wound up in poverty conditions holding trillions on worthless

currency.

Will that happen here?

Will it happen to you?

Will you be prepared?

See you at BarterTime Second Saturday, June 9th @ 9AM, south

For such a time as this!

The U.S. Dollar:
Going, going...

Perhaps you've heard.

The dollar has all but lost its status as the world's reserve currency. It's being openly discussed by many nations who are agreeing to no longer do business using the not-so-mighty dollar. Very, soon, many nations will re-balance their currencies (revaluation and devaluation). Sadly, doing so will NOT mitigate the problem the U.S. has with its enormous debt.

According to the Constitution, our government is supposed to coin and mint its own currency. Unfortunately, over 100 years ago, a deal was made with a private group of businessmen now known as the Federal Reserve Bank.

NEWSFLASH: It's not federal, it's not holding anything in reserve, and it isn't even a bank. This is NOT America's Central Bank!

Anyway, this Federal Reserve Bank agreed to print and issue currency to the government BUT the government is obligated to pay them back (our tax dollars) using that same currency. In other words, the Federal Reserve sells us their currency and WE owe them for it. Huh? What genius came up with THAT?! In so doing, we will ALWAYS be in debt because there will NEVER be enough to pay it off. Every system based upon debt requires constant debt to be created, or the system implodes.

The world is keen to this nonsense!

Alternatives? Some may ask, "What about an asset-backed currency - paper money backed by another asset?"

Great idea, but WHAT asset? All the assets belong to other countries... and they want them back!

Will we resort to regional currencies, each town printing their own "Baytown Bucks" or "Dairyville Dollars"? It's happened before in these United States and elsewhere. It's happening again in communities all over the nation while some State governments have even proposed the idea.

Here's good news!
A company called Karatbars International has introduced a concept the world has taken notice of. They offer small, user-friendly, 999.9% pure gold wafers, available through a Private Bullion Savings Program. They'll even pay commissions in gold on a loaded Debit card (I just received mine!) when anyone affiliated refers a friend who funds their own account! If you prefer NOT to receive commissions in gold, you don't HAVE to participate in that aspect of the program. Instead, simply exchange your worthless paper money for REAL gold as the mood hits you. Karatbars can either ship it to you, or store it FREE in their Swiss vault.

After 17 years in Germany, Karatbars launched its operations worldwide in the Summer of 2011. Immediately, nearly 80 nations embraced the concept along with multitudes of citizens of Planet Earth. In addition, Karatbars is working on a gold-backed credit card due for release next year, and tens of thousands of businesses have already taken notice, including some giant American businesses. Stay tuned!

In addition, if America resorts to a bartering system - as they already have in Greece - or we begin trading in gold as an alternative, or substitute to paper currency - those who hold Karatbars gold will be way ahead of the curve!

REMEMBER: I am not talking about investing in gold or buying gold. No, I'm talking about EXCHANGING paper currency for REAL money that starts increasing immediately after you make the exchange. Why are YOU holding on to any cash at all?

If you'd like more information, CLICK HERE.

Open your Karatbars Savings Account FREE by writing me at miketummillo@me.com and typing "KB" in Your SUBJECT BAR. Let's get started today!

Insulate your family from what's coming down the pike - complements of our government's shenanigans. You can even THRIVE in the midst of a shattered economy when you play your cards right! It's time to act independently of the herd. There ARE things you can do to prepare NOW! Exchanging paper currency for Karatbars is one of them.

EMERGING TREND: Is God at Work in Corporate America?
Are you interested in the latest trends and behaviors in American business? If so, you might find this particular subject of interest. It involves the spiritual renewal taking place across the nation right now.
Hundreds of large US corporations now have chaplains on their payrolls, an emerging trend as caring Employers strive to meet the needs of personnel desiring to have access to spiritual direction whenever it's needed.
A Wall Street Journal survey revealed a 50% dissatisfaction rate among executives and 80% dissatisfaction rate among the general workplace population. A University of Michigan research study revealed that more people turn to the clergy than to any other profession whenever they need help. According to another study, released by the Harvard Business School, for every dollar spent incorporating some type of Spiritual Enrichment Program into an organization's Employee Assistance Program yields a $4 return in increased loyalty, productivity and happier employees.
Business-oriented publications have taken notice as well
"... a mostly unorganized mass of believers--a counterculture bubbling up all over corporate America--who want to bridge the traditional divide between spirituality and work. Historically, such folk operated below the radar, on their own or in small workplace groups where they prayed or studied the Bible. But now they are getting organized and going public to agitate for change." - Fortune Magazine, July 16, 2001
"People who want to mix God and business are rebels on several fronts. They reject the centuries-old American conviction that spirituality is a private matter. They challenge religious thinkers who disdain business as an inherently impure pursuit. They disagree with business people who say that religion is unavoidably divisive. - Fortune Magazine, July 16, 2001
"Today, a spiritual revival is sweeping across Corporate America as people of all stripes are mixing mysticism into their management, importing into office corridors the lessons usually dolled out in churches, temples, and mosques. Gone is the old taboo against talking about God at work. - BusinessWeek Magazine, November 1999
BIBLICAL PRECEDENTS
From Heaven's vantage point, ministry in the workplace just makes sense. Why? Because it's where we spend over half our lives. As spirit-beings enduring this earthly experience, we cannot separate the two and expect to employ happy, productive employees.
Jesus knew this, of course. In the New Testament, of His 132 public appearances, 122 were in the marketplace. Of His parables, 45 had a workplace context. Of the 40 divine interventions recorded in the Book of Acts, 39 took place in the marketplace. Jesus spent his adult life as a carpenter, taking orders, producing and delivering a product. He did so until age 30 before he went into His preaching ministry in the workplace. To assist Him, Jesus called 12 workplace individuals - not clergymen - to build His church.
Work IS Worship. In fact, the Hebrew word "Avodah" is root for word from which we get BOTH the words work and worship. Work in its different forms is mentioned more than 800 times in the Bible, more than all the words used to express worship, music, praise, and singing combined.
QUOTES OF NOTE BY CHRISTIAN LEADERS
"The spiritual manifests itself in a life which knows no division into sacred and secular." -Oswald Chambers
"Spirituality in the workplace is exploding." - Laura Nash, Business Ethicist, Harvard University
"I believe one of the next great moves of God is going to be through the believers in the workplace". -Dr. Billy Graham.
"God has begun an evangelism movement in the workplace that has the potential to transform our society as we know it". -Franklin Graham
"God is marshalling his people in the workplace as never before in history. God is up to something. The next spiritual awakening could take place in the marketplace." -Henry Blackaby
"Workplace ministry will be one of the core future innovations in church ministry." -George Barna, Boiling Point, Regal Publishing
"Our surveys reveal that 90-97% of Christians have never heard a sermon relating biblical principles to their work life." -Doug Sherman, author, Your Work Matters to God.
"The church in the workplace is the purest form of the body of Christ today due to its diversity. Workplace believers are less prone to denominational differences because they have a common goal of representing Christ in their workplaces. The movement will break down denominational barriers that have been held in the past." -Os Hillman, International Coalition of Workplace Ministries
"Indeed, as with first-century Christianity, it all begins in the marketplace, where the disciples of Jesus daily rub shoulders with the lost." - Bill McCartney, Promise Keepers, Anointed for Business, Reqal Publishing
"In today's global community, the greatest channel of distribution for 'salt and light' is the business community... the marketplace." - Bill Pollard, Chairman, ServiceMaster
AN OVERVIEW OF THE FAITH AT WORK MOVEMENT
Many are referring to this workplace phenomenon as the "Faith at Work Movement." The secular media was among the first to recognize its impact.
In November 1999, Business Week reported:
"Historically, such folk operated below the radar, on their own or in small workplace groups where they prayed or studied the Bible. But now they are getting organized and going public to agitate for change. People who want to mix God and business are rebels on several fronts. They reject the centuries-old American conviction that spirituality is a private matter. They challenge religious thinkers who disdain business as an inherently impure pursuit. They disagree with business people who say that religion is unavoidably divisive."
In 2004 and 2005, major secular media also did stories on the trend. On October 31, 2004, the New York Times Magazine featured a cover story on Christianity in the workplace entitled "With God at Our Desks." The article stated:
"The idea is that Christians have for too long practiced their faith on Sundays and left it behind during the workweek, and that there is a moral vacuum in the modern workplace, which leads to backstabbing careerism, empty routines for employees and CEO's who push for profits at the expense of society, the environment and their fellow human beings." -Russell Shorto, "With God at Our Desks," New York Times Magazine, October 31, 2004, p. 42.
Subsequent features have appeared in the London Times, Boston Globe, CBS Morning News, the BBC, Atlanta Journal, CNN, National Public Radio, CBN's 700 Club, Los Angeles Times, and the Charlotte Observer, to name a few. On March 31, 2005, CNBC aired a one-hour story on faith at work. The international media has also taken note with stories or features appearing in major media in Hong Kong, Germany, England and France.
HOW DOES A BUSINESS GET STARTED?
OK, so you've heard the reports and you agree that there is a definite "need" within your own organization.
Now what?
As many can attest - and as the armed forces have known for generations - a Chaplain could be exactly what your staff is needing. Contrary to many presumptions, having a spiritual resource available to your team is NOT a threat to your workplace environment. A Workplace Chaplain won't be praying at the water cooler or preaching in the break room. In fact, whenever needed, a Workplace Chaplain will try and find Buddhists, Rabbis, and other spiritual leaders for those employees who would feel more comfortable with them, or stand by them as they seek more specialized help such a drug or alcohol treatment. Workplace Chaplains serve in every situation and serve employees with or without a religious background. They are available to deliver death or injury messages to family members after accidents, provide pastoral counseling, perform funerals and weddings, talk to employees about work place issues, make hospital and jail visits and MUCH more.
When a Workplace Chaplain contracts with a secular company, the Employer informs workers they can call on him/her whenever needed, but they are under no obligation to do so. The presence of a minister is not meant to set a religious tone to the workplace. Ministers pay scheduled visits to their designated workplaces, getting acquainted, checking in and chatting with willing employees.
As a Workplace Chaplain, myself, one day you'll be talking to a guy about last night's game, but the next day they might seek me out to talk about his wife leaving or his cousin in the hospital. The trust built makes workers feel comfortable in confiding problems, and that unexpected life events often drive workers to seek out his services. They do it by email and Instant Message all the time. I think they're most comfortable that way AND they can remain anonymous.
I believe companies hire Chaplains because they believe it increases productivity to provide support to Employees who need it, and cuts down on workplace discord. Rather than being a part of management or perceived as a co-worker who might gossip with other Employees, the Chaplain is someone neutral who can listen to employees' concerns, with the assurance of confidentiality. Layoffs, downsizing and the recent publicized instances of workplace violence have contributed to increased stress in the workplace in recent years and business owners are keen to the need for this kind of spititual assistance in the workplace.
WHAT WILL A WORKPLACE CHAPLAIN COST?
The cost of this resource varies with the size of a company but the truth is, there's probably nobody on your payroll whose presence will make such an impact on your bottom line. One key to the success of this type of ministry is that an employer must allow time for relationships to be established. A Chaplain's fee is generally tax-deductible as a Consulting fee and will vary from business to business. In today's workplace environment, one thing is certain: it would appear that it's more expensive to an organization NOT to have a Chaplain on board.

What's wrong with you?

When I was in my 30's, I recall getting angry because some people who were very close to me all seemed to be making the same comment about me. Laughing, they would mock me by saying things like: "You can't remember anything!" and "Do you have alzheimer's?" then there was, "You don't remember ANYTHING!"

Yesterday, an All-Pro linebacker shot himself in the heart. A few months back, Chicago Bear Dave Duerson did the same thing, leaving a note stating he was leaving his brain to be studied to see if medical science could do anything to help people who get concussions. The NFL has begun to take the after effects of brain injuries quite seriously as has our nation's military. The head, it seems, wasn't designed for such high-impact lifestyles.

I only played football in high school. That's forty games and a gazillion full-contact practices. I'm all-too-familiar with the aroma of smelling salts. I was scraped off the practice field numerous times and played the best game I DON'T remember playing AFTER being hit in the head on a kick-off where I received a hair-line fracture in my skull. On the sidelines, the trainer asked how many fingers he was waving in front of my face. After I finally got it right, I strapped on my helmet and went back on the field. All I remember regarding how well I played is based on watching the game films the next day. Another time, I was hit so hard in the head, I instantly went blind in my right eye and immediately staggered dizzily off the field. I still remember the cold rain pouring into my helmet as I moved my head around, trying desperately to see something - anything - on my right side, caring little about the game at that point.  In a few moments, my vision returned.

And that's just my football-related concussions. My head made full contact with the ice a number of times when I was a kid, as moments of my existence vanished from my memory forever.

When I asked Jesus into my life, to truly be my Lord and Savior, I honestly believe a restoration took place. In essence, a progressive healing which I am experiencing till this day. "Salvation" comes from the Greek "sozo" which refers to a salvation of all things pertaining to us, NOT just keeping us out of Hell. Not only do I believe my brain was restored (some people would express doubts, I'm sure), but a diagnosed "incurable" spinal disease gave way to what my doctor referred to as "a textbook spine." Even the pain in my once weather-predicting knees has been gone for decades, despite a coach once commented on hearing my knee clicking as I ran down the sideline past him during a game.

Though I cut my finger with a table saw, I can hardly find any trace of the scar. When I ran a rusty nail through the arch of my foot and had acid blow back into my eyes, neither had any lasting effect. When a spider hiding in the thumb of my leather work glove bit me, though the pain was intense, it subsided and I was fine. When a ton of dog food was dropped of a pallet jack and pinned my foot to the floor in Walmart, I have trouble recalling which foot it was (there were no broken bones and no toe nails were lost).

Don't get me wrong. This body is not unscathed and I certainly have my share of scars. But I live EXPECTING the manifestation of the healing that was purchased for me at Calvary. Like Jesus, my body, too will be glorified; this isn't "it" for any of us. Until that happens, He wants us to prosper and be in good health even as our souls prosper. By the way, when my blood sugar hit 310, with improved eating habits no longer sabotaging my own existence, it's been as low as 124 and I'm believing God for even better numbers!

Remember this: God is NO RESPECTER of persons. What He does for one, He can do - and is willing to do - for another. So much is available to the Body of Christ. Do you want it? Ask and believe you received it at the cross. "Be it unto you according to your faith." - Jesus

Here's to your health!

I believe this will help you financially.

Gold, Silver, Grain and the FOREX. These are four stores of wealth into which my wife and I would never have seen ourselves diversifying a few years ago. Used to be, our only store of wealth was our Savings Account at the local bank (what a joke). My wife is an RN and I'm a circuit-riding Workplace Chaplain, two fairly ordinary folks. However, whereas we lost LOTS of money in our 401(k) in 2008, we are now actually MAKING money.

I'd like to share one thing that has us - and a whole bunch of other people around the globe - REALLY excited. When we consider such Biblical sayings as "The wealth of the wicked is laid up for the just", "a good man leaves an inheritance for his children's children", "He created our hands to produce wealth SO THAT we could establish His covenant upon the Earth", "opening the windows off Heaven and pouring out a blessing we cannot contain" - and MANY others - we're feeliing quite confident about what the future will bring financially.

I believe this will help you, too.

Folks, LOTS of millionaires have been made during tough financial times. For that to happen to you, something MUST be done differently than you've been doing it in the past... certainly differently than what everybody else doing.

Check out this website. It might be the answer to your prayers!

May Day! May Day! Here's stuff we should ALL be thinking about!

From Simon Black, Senior Editor, SovereignMan.com

Date: May 1, 2012 Reporting From: Santiago, Chile

Friedrich von Hayek, a major figure in the Austrian school of economics, wrote in his seminal work the Road to Serfdom,

"By giving the government unlimited powers, the most arbitrary rule can be made legal; and in this way a democracy may set up the most complete despotism imaginable."

It's hard to ignore Hayek's prescient warning when you hear about the US government's newest (and 17th) spy agency that it wants to roll out... because hey, 16 spy agencies just isn't enough.

Or the Transportation Security Administration 'aggressively screening' a 7-year old girl with Cerebral Palsy at JFK Airport in New York (causing the family to miss their flight)... and then later issuing a statement defending its agents' actions.

Or Congress authorizing the IRS and State Department to revoke US citizens' passports on suspicion of tax delinquency; as of last week, the bill has passed both the House and Senate, and is now awaiting a final agreement before going to the President for signature.

Then there was the National Defense Resources Preparedness executive order that President Obama signed last month-- an order which gives the federal government autocratic power to seize and redistribute all agricultural resources in the event of a national emergency.

When you step back and look at the big picture, the writing on the wall seems so clear, so obvious. In Western Europe and the United States in particular, bankrupt, insolvent governments will resort to any means necessary in order to maintain the status quo: keeping them in power at our expense.

This means continuing to reduce personal liberty, eliminate economic freedom, vanquish privacy, debase the currency, stifle innovation, eradicate financial opportunity, and destroy the savings and livelihoods of millions of people.

These tactics are not new, this time is not different. Empires on the slide have always resorted to cannibalism-- feeding off the productive class in order to keep the party going a little while longer.

In the fourth and fifth centuries (AD), for example, the Western Roman empire resorted to centrally planned labor allocation, price fixing, rapid currency devaluation, capital  controls, civil asset forfeiture, and tax rates that were so high that the few citizens who remained welcomed the invading barbarian hordes with open arms.

Most of the smart, productive Romans had already moved on to greener pastures long before. As the situation worsened, more and more people began to leave until there was a mass Exodus of over 90% of western Rome's population in its final decades.

Similarly, the Ottoman Empire, having reached the zenith of its expansion in the 16th century, established a massive, unsustainable bureaucracy that was far more costly than any other administrative hierarchy in history, including Rome's.

Soon Ottoman bureacrats began to see the people as existing to provide them with position... rather than their position existing to support the people. Sound familiar?

Huge spending in the Ottoman Empire gave way to a massive public debt (on which they defaulted in 1875), which eventually begat currency debasement, inflation, an absurd tax system, and a substantial reduction in civil liberties.

History shows that freedom is almost always the price that societies pay to maintain the status quo and keep their rulers in power. When the system finally collapses under its own weight, though, things can go from bad to worse as the people cry out for CHANGE.

The French, for example, traded an absolute monarch in Louis XVI for an absolute dictator in Robespierre. Similarly, the Russians traded the empire of 'Bloody' Tsar Nicholas II for the Red Terror of Soviet Russia.

As the Russian Marxist revolutionary Leon Trotsky said in 1937, "The old principle of 'who does not work shall not eat' has been replaced by a new one-- who does not obey shall not eat."

Two words: Scr*w that.

Everybody has a choice to make. On one hand, we can either bury our heads in the sand, pretend that everything is OK, and continue being the boiling frog in the pot... just like the poor schmucks who stuck around Rome until the 5th century getting taxed out of their minds and watching their livelihoods inflate away.

On the other, we can recognize that the rise and fall of empires is part of history's normal cycle... that it's been happening for millennia, and this time is no different. We can look to the rest of the world and understand that, for all of the turmoil, this is one of the most exciting times to be alive and that the world is full of incredible opportunities.

Just like the Romans who left for Byzantium, the Ottomans who left for Europe, the Europeans who left for North America, there are always regions in the world that are rising while others are falling.

It's the people who get there first after acknowledging reality and basic historical truth that can reap the greatest reward.

Until tomorrow,
Simon Black
